• AfDB cites gross underestimation of funds needed to close Africa's infrastructure gap

It turns out we have been grossly underestimating the cost of closing Africa's infrastructure gap by anywhere between 40 and 80%. The old estimate, from 2006, was that African states needed to spend $93 billion a year to develop better broadband, water and sanitation, power and transport networks. But as CGTN's Ramah Nyang explains, that estimate is way below the actual funds needed. Apiary Fund released a new service called Fast Track to Funding, which provides new and current traders with one-on-one instruction with one of the company’s head traders to help them get to their funded accounts faster. The Apiary Fund is a proprietary trading fund. Members receive access to trading training and coaching. They learn by trading unfunded practice accounts. When they reach a certain level of trading skill, they receive an actual account and trade using Apiary's money. As they succeed, the fund shares a significant part of the profits they earn with them. The Fast Track to Funding helps traders get to their funded account quicker. “When we first started the Apiary Fund, there was just two of us managing the fund and our new customers,” said Shawn Lucas, head trader and founder of Apiary Fund. “We were able to provide a lot of one-on-one help and support. As we grew, it became much more difficult to provide that level of service. But realizing the value in it, we decided it was time to offer that level of service again to help you get funded – to help you get to the point where you’re successful at the Apiary Fund.” Apiary Fund currently has over 500 funded traders and a few thousand people in the development stages. The goal of Fast Track to Funding is to help those in the development stages get to their funded accounts quicker and more successfully. “You know, trading is hard,” said Lucas. “The skill development that is required to become good is not easy, but with this new process, we hope to guide our traders and make it a bit easier for them.” Fast Track to Funding is available now for current and new customers for a small fee. Participants will join Apiary Fund head traders in small groups to map out exactly how to get through the development and beeline process directly to funding. About Apiary Fund Located in Orem, Utah, Apiary Fund is a private company that develops traders and gives people the opportunity to seek the freedom of flexible income by trading with our money. Through technology and education, we empower our traders to work toward their path to success. http://www.apiaryfund.com/

What challenges does infrastructure face as an asset class? We interviewed Darryl Murphy, Head of Infrastructure Debt at Aviva Investors. We also asked: • If you had £1 billion to invest in infrastructure, what would you invest in? • What can the public sector do more of to help deliver UK infrastructure? • What makes infrastructure a good asset for investment? • Where are the biggest bottlenecks for infrastructure delivery? For more perspectives on infrastructure, download our industry report featuring views from a range of industry leaders and key decision makers in the infrastructure sector: https://bsalmon.us/2rVOevP Join the conversation on Twitter using the hashtag #ViewsOnInfra ========================== Video transcript: Infrastructure faces a great challenge of funding; it's not financing, it's actually who's going to pay for it. And the answer is you and I – as a consumer or as a taxpayer – and until we really grasp that and find new sources of funding, our general ambition to invest in infrastructure won't be met. I think the UK has a lot of detractors in terms of its infrastructure delivery. In reality, it's actually quite good. If we look back, we've delivered over 700 projects using PPP... many of which don't really get the recognition that they deserve, and that today as we look out, we can see mega infrastructure projects which are being delivered on time and on budget. We need to find new ways of funding infrastructure, particularly using assets that maybe the public sector already has, such as the value of land that increases, particularly when transport projects are invested... an example being such as cross rail or future cross rail 2. So overall we need to find these new ways of delivering more value from what we've got. If I had a billion pounds I'd probably select a project that I'd like to invest in and really that would be swansea tidal lagoon. That's a very interesting project: obviously it's very low carbon and it's the forefront of a technology that could be used across the UK. I think the public sector can do more to help deliver infrastructure more quickly, particularly about how it prepares projects. We need to do more upfront in order of thinking through funding models and procurement models so then they can go to market and get to actual delivery in a shorter period of time. Infrastructure is an ideal asset for investment, particularly for pension funds and institutional investors. It provides long term stable cash flows, often which are index linked and also it provides a relatively low level of risk for a reasonable level return. I think PPP PFI has to really come back in terms of project delivery in the UK. We've had a number of years accessible delivery and then politically it became unacceptable. There are signs now that government is willing to embrace this on perhaps a more pragmatic basis and that can only be a good thing. The largest bottleneck to the infrastructure industry... it's very much around certainty of projects and programs. We've gone a number of years with lots of plans but lack actual, granular detail in terms of what's going to be delivered and therefore the industry is struggling a little bit to invest into the future. Central government has become very focused on important large-scale mega projects. A lot of our day-to-day infrastructure has to be delivered locally in cities or in regions. Devolution potentially offers a route to provide funding, therefore those projects can come to life. What I'd like to see is local authorities developing local infrastructure plans such as we have in London to enable a forward-looking investment program. So NASA’s proposed budget just came out, & Trumps wants to completely cut funding to the International Space Station by 2025. That would basically mean the US will be the only space power NOT present on the ISS. Just to show you what it looks like THIS is what the ISS looks like These are all the countries that collaborate, cross off the US because Trump doesn’t want to play anymore. Now bailing on the International Space Station will have a big impact, been a huge part of our exploration of space and our research on our own planet for the last twenty years. Trump's planned cut has been criticized by senators on both sides. Sen. Bill Nelson (D-FL), “Turning off the lights and walking away from our sole outpost in space at a time when we’re pushing the frontiers of exploration makes no sense,” Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX), chairman of the Senate space subcommittee, said he hoped that reports of ending funding “prove as unfounded as Bigfoot”. It sounds like Ted Cruz is being forward-thinking for a minute and actually supporting science… but remember he’s from Texas and the NASA Houston station is a huge chunk of money for him, so mmm But despite all the criticism I think trump is making the right decision. Before you get too angry, please Let me explain… The ISS is expensive – it costs over $3 Billion to keep it running every year. That’s billion with a B. And it’s a lot more expensive than originally planned. And that cost has become a catch 22 for NASA. You see, ISS was designed to be a gateway to new deep-space missions, but NASA cannot afford those missions as long as it continues to fund the ISS. So, for almost 20 years, astronauts have had nowhere to go except a little outpost circling just 240 miles above the ground. in what's called “a low earth orbit”. So we have to make a choice – do we wanna stay in low Earth orbit forever, or do we want to take that 3 billion, and use it to explore deeper into space? For example, getting people people progressively farther from Earth, maybe all the way to Mars – wouldn’t that be cool. But both options are expensive, funding is limited, and you have to make choices. So Trump is making a choice, and I think it’s the right one. It’s not just him, Back in 2009, Obama himself planned to defund the ISS, so this is not new, and we have to not be too precious about it. But here’s the really important bit that makes Trump and Obama different in their approach to space. Obama wanted to take the $3 billion and more it to other research and exploration. Trump wants to use it to send humans to the moon. Since there’s no plans to build anything cool near the moon, the moon mission Serves no purpose except political. What does he even want to do on the moon? He’s made speeches where he’s said some super vague stuff using the moon as a foundation to get to mars, but again, there’s no actual plans or funding to build any foundation on the moon once we get there, so it sounds like just a stunt to me. On May 1, 1969, Fred Rogers, host of the (then) recently nationally syndicated children's television series, Mister Rogers' Neighborhood (named Misterogers' Neighborhood at the time), testified before the Senate Committee on Commerce Subcommittee on Communications to defend $20 million in federal funding proposed for the newly formed non-profit Corporation for Public Broadcasting, which was at risk of being reduced to $10 million. Subcommittee chairman, Senator John Pastore (D-RI), unfamiliar with Fred Rogers, is initially abrasive toward him. Over the course of Rogers' 6 minutes of testimony, Pastore's demeanor gradually transitions to one of awe and admiration as Rogers speaks.

[REVIEW] Best Transactional Funding https://transactionalfundingfl.com/Best-transactional-funding/ We are going to pull back the curtains and review best transactional funding comparing two top top lenders Besttransactionalfunding.com and Transactionalfundingfl.com to see what your costs would be on three different pricing strategies. Who has the best transactional funding rates? We're going to take a few moments and look at the best transactional funding companies. The first one is BestTransactionalFunding.com versus TransactionalFundingFL.com. Information has been derived from their websites on August 6, 2017. Their rates or condition of funding can change, so check first before you assume anything or use any particular funding source. Example one, $20,000 funding needed. What is the cost using BestTransactionalFunding.com? Their minimum fee up to $115,000 is $2,000 plus a $495 back-end processing fee equals $2,495, or 12.47% on the $20,000 funding needed. What about the cost of using TransactionalFundingFL.com? Their fee is $20,000 times 1% is $200 plus a $50 wire fee equals $250, or 1.25% total. What's the dollar difference? A $2,245 savings per transaction using TransactionalFundingFL.com. Example number two, a $100,000 funding needed. What is the cost of using BestTransactionalFunding.com? Their minimum fee up to $115,000 is $2,000 plus a $495 back-end processing fee equals $2,495, or 2.49% What is the cost of using TransactionalFundingFL.com? $100,000 times 1% is $1,000 plus a $50 wire fee equal $1,050, or 1.05%. What's the dollar difference? A $1,445 savings per transaction using TransactionalFundingFL.com. Example number three, $140,000 funding needed. What is the cost of using BestTransactionalFunding.com? 1.75% plus a $495 back-end processing fee to equal $140,000 times 0.175 is $2,450 plus the $495 are $2,945, which equals 2.1% What is the cost of using TransactionalFundingFL.com? $140,000 times 1% is $1,400 plus a $50 wire fee is equal to $1,450, or 1.03% What's the dollar difference? A $1,495 savings per transaction using TransactionalFundingFL.com. A quick summary of the three funding examples. In the following comparison table, Best refers to BestTransactionalFunding.com and TFFL refers TransactionalFundingFL.com. $2,245 for the $20,000 funds needed, $1,445 on the $100,000, and $1,495 on the $140,000 needed. This amount of savings can pay part or all of your closing costs on at least one leg of an A to B and B to C transaction. The double asterid on the word Best above indicates that on the BestTransactionalFunding.com website, the funding fee for two to five days is 3.5% instead of 1.75%. However, their website also indicates they have completely stopped doing 30, 60, or 90-day extended transactional funding, and neither does TransactionalFundingFL.com. What about a proof of funds? TransactionalFundingFL.com offers investors a twofold approach to satisfying your seller's financial requirements. Verified Proof of Funds, or VOD, actual bank statement, no cost whatsoever, while BestTransactionalFunding.com charges $595 for their VOD. You'll also receive a letter of credit, LOC, indicating a credit limit up to which you will be approved for one or multiple properties, instead of getting a single LOC for a particular property, no cost whatsoever. What else do you get from TransactionalFundingFL.com? Access to extensive actual deals showing HUD closing statements for the A to B and B to C transactions on all types of sales, probates, REOs, divorces, short sales, bankruptcies, and on and on. All of these examples can be seen at www.TransactionalFundingFL.com. No hidden or junk fees whatsoever. No up-front or back-end fees. Your complete cost is 1% plus a $50 wire fee, paid at the closing of the B to C leg, with no minimum fee. TransactionalFundingFL.com currently funds in Florida and Georgia. How do we charge so little? Very frankly, we use our own money and we do not pay referral fees except to licensed mortgage brokers. So, if you're thinking about referring someone, would you rather refer them the lowest possible rate, or a much higher rate and get a 10% referral fee, as you do from BestTransactionalFunding.com? TransactionalFundingFL.com, ranked Five Star, Florida and Georgia's most convenient and least expensive transactional funder. You can reach us at 954-274-1003.
